Being here, by Mark Garry, thread pins, beads

Conceptual soldiers

Some people have this way of weaving words into dimensions.

It’s like a hammer, nail and fuse in the hands of something innovative and eruptive.

The way they can carry the words not just with a hand or a tongue but they literally envelop letter and punctuation into themselves and use them as their own. They become the words and the words become the story and the message and it’s not just depth and weight and meaning that flows from them but it’s character and legitimacy.

Those are the people that intimidate me the most and make me feel as inadequate as I’ll ever feel. Because words are my weapons and shields but against someone like that, extravagance and planning isn’t enough and there’s nothing worse than being disarmed by your own armour.

Thank God I’m going with Kyle and not some random awkward date. It’ll make tonight so much less stressful.
